Bickel Family Camp 2010

I really like Michigan. I like it well enough that we ought to move to Chicago, so that we don't have to spend 2000 miles on a trip there again any time soon.

But! This is not my point. You deserve to know the fun of it all.

1) Isaiah really likes tents. He created excuses to go to the tent. "Mommy, I need to make sure my sandals are in the tent." "Mommy, I want to take a nap, but just for pretend." And, his most forthright approach, "Mommy, I want to be in the tent."

2) Miriam really likes people her size. Poor baby cousin Marin. She was hugged and loved and kissed so mightily.

3) Isaiah really likes small dogs. He doesn't really like large dogs.

4) Isaiah is no longer allowed to drink on a road trip without my oversight. We stopped more often for him to use the bathroom than...well, it was a lot of stopping, ok? There was even an emergency situation in the heart of Chicago traffic that required some...creativity.

5) Miriam will try to eat a Michigan rock just like it's a Nebraska rock. Not preferential.

6) Iowa wins the Cleanest, Most Agreeable, Greatly Located Rest Stops Award. We saw a lot of them. (Did you read #4?)

7)When asked, Isaiah liked the hayride the best. But Nathan thinks he may have liked the boat ride at least as well.

8) I married into a really great family.

Outside of the numerical list, it was wonderful to see Nathan's grandmother.

Pictures, you ask? Maybe tomorrow. I wasn't real handy with that camera again, I'm afraid, but there are a couple of shots around here somewhere.
