Meteorological diaries

This. Was. Impressive.  My camera didn't capture it nearly, though I tried and tried.  We could see the whole vibrant bow from side to side out the back windows, and the less vibrant echo was visible beneath the clouds on either side.

That was Sunday.  Yesterday was a practically perfect 70-something with sunshine and a light breeze.  Overnight we had a crazy thunderstorm with 70 mph winds, 2.81 inches of rain and 1 3/4 inch hail.  Today the temperature is sinking toward tonight's low of 16, and we're getting sleet & ice before it turns to snow.  Strangest couple days of weather I've ever lived through without changing time zones or altitude.

Well, except that time Dad took me to Yellowstone and we got snowed out.

And that concludes my weather report.
