On this Sunday past, we forgot that our van does not have 4WD and took it across town to sled down the only proper hill between here and the Rockies. Wait for it...of course you're right: we got stuck. The 4-yr-old got a lesson in Good Deeds - a few extra pushes from random strangers and we were safely** headed home. The sledding was good, even if Miriam's gloves were not. But the camera was safe from the snow inside the van so I can't share the fun with you. I wasn't going to give up sledding myself for a few good shots, folks. Selfish and whatnot.
Then we got a right proper snow day off of school. Mondays are the best days for snow days. Totally makes January worth it.
Approximately 40 cups of hot chocolate (pronounced kawt KAWT-chawt if you're Miriam) and 3 dozen bags of marshmallows later, here we are. Snow up to our knees and fingers warmed up for another round.
**Where were all the plows, anyway?

Vans really ought to be better equipped for such things. They should also be helicopters.
