Today the prekindergarteners had their "Thank You, God!" party. In lieu of a crazy Christmas pageant, Isaiah and 28 other kids his age sang for a room full of proud adults. A bit of hubbub to celebrate the best thankfulness of wee people. Then we ate a lot of sugar. Here are the three things you are better off knowing.
1. Isaiah done did you all proud. He stood (on his little piece of tape), he sang (loud enough to be heard), he actioned (at all the right times). Later he said he liked singing for all the people, but he liked the food better. His mom failed to take pictures, so you'll have to use your best imaginations.
2. One of the boys was having a hard time spotting his parents in the audience. So, instead of singing with his classmates, he sauntered over to me and said, "You find my parents right now or I'm going to fire you." My job has never been threatened before by someone who can't yet read.
3. While talking pilgrim stuff later, Isaiah said, "They didn't have good food at the first Thanksgiving. They had to eat fish." (Grand pause.) "But they did have butter."
And that is how we spent our Monday. How was yours?
